Games server status — Terms of Service
Games server status ("the bot") is a Discord application that monitors game servers (Minecraft Java, Minecraft Bedrock, Eaglercraft and Mindustry), posts their status in Discord, and can send a wake signal to servers that hibernate. It is operated by an individual ("the operator") as a hobby project. The bot can be added to a Discord server, or added to your own Discord account as a user app, in which case /server and /help also work in direct messages, group chats and in servers the bot itself is not in. By adding the bot in either way, or using any of its commands, you agree to these terms.
1. Discord's rules come first
Use of the bot is also governed by the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Where these terms and Discord's conflict, Discord's apply.
2. What you may use it for
- Monitoring game servers you run, or that you have permission to monitor, and quick checks of any public game server with
/server, whose reply keeps updating every 30 seconds for up to 10 minutes. - Showing status, player counts, the names of online players (as published by the game server), versions and uptime in Discord channels and voice-channel names.
- Waking hibernating servers you are entitled to start.
3. What you may not do
- Use the wake features against servers or hosting providers you have no right to start, or in a way intended to overload a host. The
/server wakeoption is limited to five uses per person per week for this reason, counted across every server, chat and direct message you use it in; server administrators and Discord server owners are not exempt. - Use alert pings, main-chat notices or voice-channel names to harass anyone.
- Use
/serverto probe servers in a way their owners would object to, or at a rate intended to disrupt them. - Attempt to abuse, disrupt or reverse-engineer the bot, or use it to break the law in your country.
4. Availability
5. Your data
What the bot stores and why is described in the Privacy Policy. Server administrators are responsible for the server addresses, names and channel configuration they enter, and for having the right to monitor those servers and show the player names they publish in that channel.
6. Enforcement
The operator may remove the bot from any Discord server, disable a feature, or block a user or server from using it, at any time and without notice, in particular for the conduct listed in section 3.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the bot — including inaccurate status information, missed or unwanted alerts, or actions taken by a server administrator using the bot's features. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Ending use
You can stop using the bot at any time by removing it from your Discord server, or removing it from your account under Discord's Authorized Apps settings. Removing it from a server stops all monitoring for that server and the bot deletes that server's configuration, status messages it can still reach, and availability history; configuration can also be deleted beforehand with /removeserver and /removestatus.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the current version; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions, complaints and removal requests: message the operator on Discord — patryk3327.
